Palavras ao Vento

5th of June 2011

On the 5th of June another Helping Japan Recover event will take place at Hana Kogure’s closing concert night “Palavras ao Vento“. Pray for Japan/Portugal will once again be present conducting workshops and demonstrations. For this event they have programmed Origami and Japanese Calligraphy workshops, as well as Furoshiki and Japanese Tea Ceremony demonstrations. MonkeySoup will also be present giving us another glimpse at her Shadow-Art performance. This time there will also be massages, a bazaar, Japanese cakes and other products for sale as well at the Helping Japan Recover event, and all income will be donated to the Japanese Red Cross as usual.

The event begins at 13h00, and the entry is free until 18h00 when Hana Kogure’s concert will commence.

We thank all of you who have been present at our past events, for your support and solidarity, and we hope to see some more new faces at this new event.

All income generated through donations has been donated to the Japanese Red Cross to help rebuild the damaged areas and homes, and to provide assistance and relief to the affected population. This is the true intent of Helping Japan recover. By organizing these events we hope to do our part and ease the frustration which stems from the fact that we cannot be there in person to help the victims of this enormous cataclysm, and we sincerely hope that you find it in yourself to join us and contribute, no matter how little, to help Japan rebuild itself.

The 5º Festival da Tulipa e do Cravo – Helping Japan Recover event was organized by the  Pray for Japan/Portugal group with the support of  the Japanese Embassy in Lisbon, the Associação de Amizade Luso-Turca, the Casa de Espanha de Lisboa, Kagome, Sojitsen, Yamaha and Mitsubishi.
